How to tie the Wood Duck nymph

A nice little nymph made from one wood duck flank feather. The speckled wood duck feather gives a very realistic nymph appearance to this quick and easy generic pattern.

  1. Your technique of using the top portion of the feather for both the legs and the wing case is outstanding! I’ve never seen anyone do it like that before. Very creative! I also have some brown-dyed and gray-dun-dyed mallard flank feathers that should work in the same manner and will produce darker colored nymphs for me.
