Bristow’s Bug dry fly



One of the lesser known but still effective old grayling and trout patterns, with a couple of nice body techniques with peacock herl.

  • Hook: Mustad R50U # 12
  • Tying thread: Sheer 14/0 Black
  • Tail: Goose or duck quill slips dyed red
  • Rib: Fine silver wire
  • Body: Peacock herl
  • Hackle: Natural white or cream
