The first of my fly tying tool reviews, The Kopter Revolution Bobbin holder.
This Italian made, Kopter Revolution bobbin holder, stems from the classic wishbone bobbin holder design. Crafted from premium aeronautical-grade materials. Ceramic inserts for both entry and exit points of the stainless steel spigot, a somewhat semi adjustable tension, through the flat steel wishbone legs, with a moulded carbon and plastic base and hubs.
What is unique with this bobbin holder is that the that the base that holds the spool can be spun for thread control or spinning dubbing in split tying thread loops!
Noteworthy observations of the Kopter bobbin holder include semi-adjustable flat steel legs, suitable for accommodating standard bobbing sizes. The carbon moulded hubs, produce a smooth and precise thread transition from the spool to the hook. In the video, I also demonstrate the unique spinning’s base of the tool, emphasising its utility in “enhancing” thread control during the tying process.

Hands-On Experience and Feedback
Although I haven’t tied much with it yet, I share my initial impressions and practical insights from using the Kopter Revolution bobbin holder. While acknowledging its innovative design and high-quality construction, I also feel that I should mention the rather steep learning curve, I experienced, associated with adapting to its functionality. If you have used the Kopter Revolution bobbin holder, I would like to hear your views and experience.
I have made a large article on my website about bobbin holders, that contains just about everything that you need to know, advantages and disadvantages.
