  1. Hi Barry. I love your flies and hope you will continue posting. I tried to respond to your Keep calm and tie flies post but seem to be unable to comment there. I have a query which relates to your use of the Petitjean bobbin holder. I am on my second ( the first one was continually fraying the thread) and find it great with the exception that I sometimes find that it unthreads itself from the tip of the holder if I push the thread. This is my long winded way of asking if you have any experience of this or am I just using it wrongly. Regards from Ireland, Paul Keegan.

    1. Hi Paul,

      Thanks. I know exactly what you mean, and it took me some time to work it out. What you have to do, when you are pushing the thread away from you, you must always take care that you have the ‘closed’ side of the bobbin tip towards you. This way the thread is pushed into the bobbin and not pulled out of the holding ring. Try it and let me know if you still have problems.
