Not the original tying but the results are more or less the same. This easy tied, world renound caddis pattern was designed by my old friend, fly tyer and master rod builder Kenneth Bostrom. The name Rackelhanen, dirctly translated means ”Bastard Rooster” and refers to a strange natural cross breeding of Black grouse and the Capercaillie, of which the un-natural offspring is called a Rackelhanen. The Rackelhanen is fished as a normal adult caddis pattern but can also be pulled hard under the surface of the water so that it pops up agian rather like a hatching caddis breaking the surface.
