SIM Fly Festival Castel di Sangro Italy

The weekends fishing and testing of the new patterns tied with UV materials was difficult! The weather at 1000 meters above sea level was wet and cold, and the season start was at least a week later than normal. Over the weekend we had about 50 mm of rain and a temperature low of 3 degrees, so there where no insects to be seen. The largest lake was still covered with ice! But with hope that the weather will turn soon I will be out again this weekend and post my findings later.

In the meantime, next Thursday I will be traveling to Italy to tie at the SIM Fl Festival at Castel di Sangro in Abruzzo on the 22nd and 23rd of June. The medieval town of Castel di Sangro situated 786 meters above sea level, is also the home of the Italian fly fishing museum. So if you are in Italy and have a day free to visit, its well worth it. I will be demonstrating modern techniques for trout patterns.
